I did a little research, and it looks like the average time for empires to fall is about 60 years, although some are much more and some are much less – that's just how averages work. How much longer do we have? I think we might be relatively near the beginning of the end as far as the empire goes, but it's really hard to say. Channa Masala (Emily's 2025 Version) Ingredients Spices 1 cinnamon stick 5-6 cloves garlic, minced (or basically however much you want; I'm not your mom) 1 inch minced ginger (around 2 tbsp) 2-4 green cardamom pods 2-4 whole cloves 1-2 bay leaf 1 tsp ground coriander 2 tsp ground cayenne or hot chili powder (or go crazy with this if you want.) 1/4 - 1/2 tsp turmeric Hot peppers (use whatever sort you have or like, but prefer bird's eye & combinations of various peppers; also, again, go crazy with this if you want –......

This past weekend I was lucky enough to go to The Athens Community Arts and Music Festival with dear friends from the station. I got to see a lot of bands that I have been playing over the last few years on Attention Please, including Pal, Dana, & Gustaf. All of these acts exceeded my expectations – I have been listening to Gustaf for a while, but I was totally unprepared for the madness and brilliance of their live set. Pal was just as weird and fun as I hoped. Dana played the kind of nervous, bouncy/twitchy post-punk that I love. A real standout for me was the band The Laughing Chimes.
